on Sources for this Data Over the
years LCC students, along with students from Windward Community College and local high
school students from the SPEBE program and Waipahu High School, have collected a wealth of
oceanographic data from the waters around Pearl Harbor. Much of this data has been
organized and is made available at this Homepage site (See Map for location of stations).
Included are water quality measurements for the Loch
of Pearl Harbor and four of the streams that flow into these bodies of water, dating back
to the early 1970's. These measurements have been achieved by a variety of methods, with In
Situ using electronic sensors lowered by cable, being the more common method used,
but some samples were returned to the lab for analyses.
Parameters investigated have included: temperature,
salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, reactive phosphate, Secchi depth, water color & depth.
More detailed data is available in separately bound
reports in the Haw/Pacific collection in LCC Library and on the shelves in MS 102 on the
LCC campus.
