Keeping the Noise Level Down

Keeping the Noise Level Down

Please help to keep the noise level down in the Mathematics Learning Resource Center. The following guidelines may assist you.

1. Assist each other in maintaining a quiet atmosphere.
Work with the other center employees to maintain a quiet atmosphere for studying. When tutoring a student, talk as quietly as possible. If you observe students talking unneccessarily or extra loud, encourage them to keep their voices down. If the problem persists, inform the Math Lab Manager about the situation.

2. Avoid engaging in personal conversation.
Avoid lengthy conversations with students about their personal problems. Alert the Math Lab Manager of students whose personal problems are affecting their studies.

3. Alert the Math Lab Manager about disruptive students.
Let the Math Lab Manager know about disruptive students or of any disruptive situations. It is easier to resolve a situation in its earlier stages.
