Our helpful, cheerful student staff makes the LRC one of the friendliest places on campus!  Students who are working for the LRC and KI hold a variety of positions:

  • LRC Writing Consultants assist students with writing skills for any class in the LRC, in classrooms, and online.  To qualify, students must have completed English 100 or equivalent with a grade of A or B and have recommendation of instructor; samples of academic writing and an interview are required as part of the application process. 

  • LRC Content Tutors assist students in mastering course knowledge and improving learning skills and strategies for various content subjects.  Tutoring may be in individual or group sessions.  To qualify, students must have completed the course with a grade of A or B and have recommendation of instructor; an interview is required as part of the application process. 

  • LRC Front Desk Aides assist LRC student and faculty clients at the front desk and in the LRC computer lab.  To qualify, students must have strong interpersonal and computer skills; an interview is required as part of the application process. 

  • KI paraprofessionals assist the KI professional staff in serving clients and prospective clients of the KI program. To qualify, students must have strong interpersonal and computer skills; an interview is required as part of the application process. 

  • KI Note takers attend specified classes, take notes and provide the notes to a KI student as directed by KI professional staff.  To qualify, students must have good note taking skills; an interview is required as part of the application process.

  • KI Readers tape record textbooks for KI students.  To qualify, students must be comfortable reading aloud into a tape recorder. An interview is required as part of the application process.
