Jeremiah Boydstun

Jeremiah Boydstun was born in Agana, Guam in 1974 but has spent most of his life in Hawaii.

He attended college at U.H. Manoa as an English major, receiving his B.A (with honors) in 2001 and his M.A., with a concentration in literary studies, in spring 2004. While at Manoa Jeremiah’s areas of concentration included science fiction (he did his Master’s thesis on themes of cannibalism and atavism in the works of H.G. Wells ), film, and the 20th century American novel.

Jeremiah received his first teaching position (as a lecturer) in fall of 2004, teaching courses in the LCC Language Arts Division, the LCC Arts and Humanities Department, the KCC Literature, Languages, and Linguistics Division, and at LCC Waianae. After two stress-filled years of lecturing, Jeremiah was hired full-time by the LCC Language Arts Department, where he has been happily employed for the past several years. Currently he serves on the Curriculum Committee, the Foundations Board, the Space Planning Committee, the Board of Student Communications and the Presidential Scholars selection committee. He is also the advisor of LCC's soccer club.

Jeremiah has been married for six years to Candice, a registered nurse at Kaiser Moanalua. He and Candice live in Mililani Mauka and own a very handsome cat named Miles. Jeremiah plays competitive soccer, loves to read, watch movies, exercise, and travel, having visited England, Italy, Russia, Canada, and Mexico. He is currently attending U.H. Manoa and working toward another graduate degree in Political Science.
