Overview of Services

A wide variety of services are available for students

with disabilities at Leeward Community College.

These may include:

  • Pre-admission counseling
  • Faculty liaison
  • Academic accommodations and counseling
    • Alternative testing
    • Taped Text
    • Auxiliary aids and services
      • Note takers
      • Sign language/oral interpreting
      • Scribes and/or readers

Assistive Technology

  • Technology lab and training on adaptive equipment
  • Alternative formats for printed material
  • Assistive listening devices
  • Special needs table and chairs
  • Public  text telephone  (TTY)

Eligibility for these services is determined individually based for documented need. Early planning is essential for many of the resources and accommodations provided so we ask that you contact us at the earliest possible date in order for us to assist you.
