Festival focuses on sustainability

Students and the community are encouraged to join Leeward Community College as it kicks off Earth Week with the Ka Mole o Nā Pua Festival. The daylong event focusing on sustainability takes place on Saturday, April 16.

There will be live entertainment, informational booths, storytelling for children, Hawaiian games and demonstrations, and arts and crafts. Keeping with the nature theme, all of the food booths and vendors will be local, with an emphasis on using healthy and organic products.

There will also be robotics competition featuring projects by area fifth- through 12th-grade students held in conjunction with the festival. The theme for the festival is ecosystem.
