How to Manually Update Your McAfee VirusScan
- Single click the right mouse button on the red, white, and blue shield
with a V icon in the lower right corner of your screen
- A pop-up menu will appear.
From this menu, select Update Now…
- A window will appear and it will show the status of the update.
- When the updater is finished, the window will close in 30 seconds or you may
select the Close button.
- To verify that the update was successful, you may repeat the “How
to check if McAfee VirusScan Is Up to Date”
How to Check if McAfee VirusScan Is Up to Date
- Single click the right mouse button on the red, white, and blue shield
with a V icon in the lower right corner of your screen
- A
pop-up menu will appear. From this menu, select About VirusScan Enterprise
- A window will appear with information about your McAfee VirusScan software.
In this window, look for DAT file or Virus Definitions and check the version.
- Check the date. The date should be today or a date close to the current
date. If it does not say that, please repeat the “How to
manually update your McAfee VirusScan” again.
