Students are required to have a current validated UH system student ID card. No other
form of identification will be accepted.
Food,
beverages or tobacco products are not allowed in the lab. Please leave all
food, beverages and tobacco products outside.
Installation of software is prohibited. Downloading of
programs or files on to the desktop or hard drive from the Internet is also
prohibited.
Copying of software is prohibited. This is an
infringement of copyright laws and is illegal. Anyone doing so risks the
loss of lab privileges.
Game
playing is prohibited.
Altering desktop or computer configurations is prohibited. This includes, but is
not limited to, creating folders or saving work on the desktop/hard drives,
changing desktop wallpaper, screensavers, etc.
Users
should not attempt to repair any problems encountered on the computer.
All problems should be reported immediately to the lab staff.
Users
are allowed 2 hours of computer application usage or 1 hour of Internet
usage.
If there is no waiting list, you may continue to work on the computer.
Users
should save files on their own data disks.
Any files saved to the hard drive are public and can be deleted. We are not
responsible for lost work saved to the hard drive.
We
are not responsible for lost or damaged data disks used in our facilities.
Viewing/Printing of offensive materials is strictly prohibited.
When
classes are scheduled in the open classroom lab, all users must leave 10
minutes prior to the start of class.
Please budget your time.
All
printing MUST be completed before the lab closes.
Printing services will be terminated 10 minutes prior to the closing of the
lab.
Printing directly from the internet is not allowed.
Copy data and paste into Word before printing.
Printing is limited to 10 pages per day.
Users must provide paper for laser printing and only 20 lb laser paper will
be accepted. Paper is provided for dot matrix printers. (Multiple copies
are not allowed)
Lab
phones are available for on-campus calls only. Lab phones are for
lab staff and faculty only.
There are pay phones located on campus for public use.
Please no unnecessary noise. If you are disruptive to others, you will be asked to leave.
Cellular phones must be turned
off or set to silence. Cell phone use in the lab is prohibited.
Users must not violate the
privacy of other user's work, user files, disks, passwords, etc.
Anyone
caught doing otherwise risks the loss of computer privileges.
Do
not leave your personal belongings unattended.
We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
