How do I get an email account?Students may apply on-line for email accounts with the University of Hawaii. [http://www.hawaii.edu/cgi-bin/idrequest] Please read all instructions carefully. Be sure to write down your login id, email address and password. [In the event that you forget this important information, you may ask the Learning Resource Center (LRC) staff--ground floor, ocean-side of the library--to request that information from UH Manoa. This will take a day at least--perhaps longer at the beginning of each semester. You must take a picture ID with you at this time.] The Banner system used for registration and grades requires the student have a UH system email account. In addition to UH email accounts, students may use any private email or Internet email account they have at this time. (See your instructor for specific details.) Problems with these accounts must be resolved with your email provider.
TopWhere can I find virus protection software for my home computer ?The University of Hawaii has a site license for McAfee virus detection software. Go to the LRC--ground floor, ocean-side of the library--where you can get specific details.
TopWhere can I get more information about the BS degree from UH Hilo that is currently offered at LCC?Call Nancy Buchanan in our counseling office for more information. 455-0233.
TopWho is my advisor ?Technically we divide the alphabet between the instructors we have available for advising. But if you are already seeing one of the instructors and your name is not in their assigned alphabets, you do not have to change advisors. In fact, if you are more comfortable seeing someone in particular, please feel free to contact that person for an advising appointment.
