Welcome to Project Ku'ikahi

a clearinghouse for volunteers for the Native Hawaiian community

He Aha Keia Pahana?  What is Project Ku'ikahi?

Project Ku'ikahi is an online database that features Native Hawaiian-serving non-profit community organizations and agencies that serve communities with Native Hawaiians comprising at least 25% of its population (criteria courtesy of Native Hawaiian Leadership Project.)

He aha ka Mana'o 'o Ku'ikahi?  What does Ku'ikahi mean?

Ku'ikahi means to unite, to agree, and to make peace.  Through Project Ku'ikahi's effort to make community service information current and easily accessible for the public, it aims to gather individuals - from both the Native Hawaiian community and from other valuable communities - of whom together can directly coordinate their efforts to provide kokua, or help, to some of O'ahu's outstanding organizations.  Ultimately, Project Ku'ikahi hopes to unite a greater interest in the Native Hawaiian community.

He aha e hiki ia'u ke kokua?  How can I help?

Project Ku'ikahi's clearinghouse makes it very easy for you to find organizations in O'ahu by three different search options:

By Category

By Location

By Alphabetical List

All of these search options are located on the volunteer web page.  The search can direct you to a page which lists all pertinent volunteer information for a specific organization.

Additionally, many of these agencies request volunteers with specific skills or requirements.  These, in combination with additional information about each agency, help you to gain a better understanding of the kind of work you might be able to expect as a volunteer.  Project Ku'ikahi aims to make getting this information as efficient as possible for you.

E Ho'omaka!
