Volunteer Position Needed - Native Hawaiian Tour Docent 

Volunteers provide visitors to Waimea Valley information and botanical examples of unique and fragile native flora from their world class Native Hawaiian Botanical collection.

Individuals must be comfortable talking to a small group of people.  Individuals must be able to commit to talking to at least one day every other week for an hour.  The volunteer will be trained by the botanical and education staff.  Some prior knowledge of Native Hawaiian plants is helpful, but not required.

Requirements

Volunteers are needed during weekdays.  The Native Hawaiian Tour Docent position is available to individuals in the following age groups:

  • Young Adults (18 - 25)
  • Adults (26 - 54) 
  • Adults (55+)
