Volunteer Information

Individuals interested in working in a dynamic fishpond in on the Windward side are welcome to volunteer.  Paepae o He'eia welcomes individuals thoroughly interested in helping to maintain He'eia Fishpond.  Volunteers are involved in a variety of activities, including removing invasive species from the site, clearing of the area, and maintenance.  Please call if you’re interested and willing to work directly with the environment.  Most projects include:

·       Collect invasive limu (seaweed)

·       Plant native limu

·       Cut down mangroves and use as renewable resources

·       Reconstruct fishpond well

Everyone is welcome to volunteer!

Additional Information

Paepae o He'eia is an organization committed to taking care and preserving He'eia Fishpond.  It does this through educational materials and visits, actual on-site clean ups, and other volunteer run activities.
