Volunteer Information

Individuals interested in helping the Wai'anae community are encouraged to call.  Individuals will be working in the shelter, helping homeless individuals in the Wai'anae area.  Common duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning, helping prepare and serve meals, event help, clerical work, and other areas.  Please call for more information if you are eager and willing to work in a homeless shelter environment.  Age limits are required for some duties, so please call in advance.

Additional Information

Ohana Ola o Kahumana is part of the City and County of Honolulu ’s Homeless Service Organizations.  Ohana Ola serves primarily homeless Native Hawaiians, as Native Hawaiians tend to make the majority of individuals both homeless and not homeless in the Wai'anae area.

Ohana Ola offers both transitional housing for homeless adults with minor children and the Wai'anae Community Outreach program.
