Additional Information

The Nature Conservancy, in cooperation with its many volunteers and members, has already protected more then 200,000 acres of critical natural lands in Hawai'i .  The Nature Conservancy's mission is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

In Hawai'i , this means protecting many of the Native Hawaiian flora around the island, particularly in the rich forest areas.  The Nature Conservancy helps promote educational information through lectures, information sessions, and group hosted visits.  In addition, it partners with other groups to help take care of areas with Native Hawaiian plants in O’ahu.  Projects vary, so please visit the website if you are interested in getting more information on current projects.  The Nature Conservancy is a great way to exercise a green thumb and help protect some of Hawai'i ’s most unique Native species!
