Additional Information

Founded in the summer of 2000 by a diverse group of community members with a commitment to hula and Hawaiian culture, HPS was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of hula.  Their mission is two fold: 1) to preserve the unique spirits and authentic voices of our kupuna Kumu Hula through digital documentation, and 2) to perpetuate the oral histories of their lives in hula through various mediums as a learning resource for generations to come.”

The Hula Preservation Society is "dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of hula."
