Additional Information:  The ALA of Hawai'i is devoted the prevention and control of lung health needs in the islands.  The ALA has been contributing to the lung health needs of Hawai'i’s people since contributing to the lung health needs of Hawai'i’s people since Mabel Wilcox founded the Hawai'i Tuberculosis Association in 1929, making the ALA of Hawai'i the oldest non-profit health agency in the state.  Volunteers are a key part of the ALA in Hawai'i. Many other volunteers help in many different ways, including presenting programs in schools, testifying at the state legislature, educating children with asthma, planning and conductive special events, and providing office support.
