The Venetian has an astounding gimmick: all of Venice squeezed into an extra jumbo city block (EOS 10D, EF 17-40 4L USM & 430EX).

It's difficult to appreciate the detail of the recreations if you haven't been to Venice. The accuracy and detail are uncanny, albeit only skin deep. Well, except for one thing: unlike Venice, everything is new, squeaky clean and new and there are no dog turds on sidewalks. Venice's landmarks, artworks, canals, cafes, shops and other icons are collapsed into a colossal architectural Grand Canyon. You can spend hours strolling along the shop lined canal, ride a gondola, sip a cappuccino or "git down" at a swingin' hot spot. Of course it's pretty expensive so bring your luck to the tables before hitting Louis Vuitton and Tao.
