During the 1990s the "World Beat" fad hit the USA and Ecuadorian folk ensembles were common fare in tourist cities from Vancouver, B.C., to Honolulu. Here an Ecuadorian musician rips on panpipes & seashells at Ala Moana Shopping Center. People in Hawaii are terrible tippers so street musicians tend to avoid performing here.
