The brightly colored boats and homes bathed in the setting sun was about as photogenic a scene as one could hope for.
Burano is a small island in the lagoon just outside Venezia (Venice), and is only a 30 minute boat ride from tourist central. It's a sleepy fishing village and poses a refreshing contrast to crowded and fast paced Venezia. At sunset the town square is filled with strolling old folks, teenagers and kids kicking soccer balls.
I hung around for a few hours and ate dinner in a quaint sidewalk cafe. I can't say the food was good--actually was terrible--but the wine flowed freely and I left a happy albeit rather sedated man.
