I found these tiny lilies on the side of the road. Hundreds stood defiantly among a heap of trash: TV, bed frame and dresser drawers were carelessly tossed on top of them, crushing their delicate beauty. But life soldiers on: at dusk they close tight like an umbrella and thrust open petals at first light.
