Montmartre is the old Paris artist's quarter from the turn of the 19th century but is now a tourist area, albeit a nice one. It's a great walk through the surrounding neigborhood with plenty of rustic 19th century scenes and photogenic objects. At the summit of the "butte" I fell upon a square with dozens of street artists painting and drawing. Oddly, a high percentage of the artists were Vietnamese.
Sidewalk bistros filled every nook and cranny of Montmartre.
Quasi Impressionistic paintings by street artists were all the rage.
As were poster reprints of a bygone era.
After dinner we blazed down these stairs to the waiting city below.
