Technology Boot Camp Topics

Pre-Camp
A boot camp recruiter will be visiting the new hire orientation session to sign you up to participate in the program.  Once singed up the recruiter will be sending you an email with information on creating a syllabus, obtaining a UH username, accessing My UH portal and much more.

Campus Resources
Learn about the various campus resources available to support instruction.  Resources include the Copy Center, Helpdesk, Educational Media Center (Educational Technology, Video Production, Distance Education, Intec Services), Classroom on Wheels and Projector Cart.

Smart Classroom Training I and II.
Learn to use the equipment in the various "Smart Classrooms" located around campus.  The content covered in this session is equivalent to the Smart Classroom "Orientation" level of training.  The sessions will also integrate the TurningPoint audience participation system.

This workshop will cover an overview of Laulima, My Workspace, How to request a site and more.

2.  DISTRIBUTE  (Laulima)
This workshop will cover basic course site management, posting a syllabus, uploading files and organizing files and more.

3.  BROADCAST  (Laulima)
This workshop will cover creating events, creating announcements, grading assignments and more.

4.  COMMUNICATE  (Laulima)
This workshop will cover creating and sendinge-mail externally, creating ans sending messages internally and more

5.  ASSESS  (Laulima)
This workshop will cover creating question pools and questions for tasks tests and surveys and more.

Combination Activity
This session will cover authentic assessments, absorb-do connect activities and more.

Google Sites
This session will cover Google @ UH Sites.
