Hawaiian Horticulture provides hands-on learning in Leeward Community
College's bio-technology laboratory, shade house propagation center and
gardens for propagation, cultivation and uses of native, Hawaiian and
other traditional cultural plants found in Hawaii. Proper nutritional
principles are applied to plant uses including food preparation and
making healthy choices. Marketing, developing micro-propagation skills,
field trips, guest speakers and student projects provide additional
learning opportunities.
Prerequisite: ENG 21 and ENG 22 with a grade of C or better or equivalent.
