When we hear about scholarship opportunities, we will post them here.

Note: The LCC Scholarship Manager is once again available on the LCC Homepage. The deadline to complete the online application is February 1, 2008. Also, if you started your application in August ‘07 and didn’t get a chance to finish, you will be given the opportunity here. If you have questions, please call LCC Financial Aid at 455-0606.

EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS: OAHU RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility:  Student attending college who is in need of financial assistance; will look at need, family circumstances, academic achievement, recommendations, and priority given to Education majors.
Deadline:  April 10, 2008
Awards of $1500 for University or College students; $1000 for Community College students.

HANA LIMA SCHOLARSHIP

Special eligibility: Preference given to Native Hawaiians, must be enrolled in a vocational degree or certificate program for the Spring 2008 term.  LCC’S AAT (Teaching) program is eligible; AA (liberal arts) degree is not.

HAWAII COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Over 150 different scholarship funds are available through HCF’s scholarship program!

Special eligibility: Varies; some are open to Wal-Mart associates and their dependents only, some are open to all.

THE GARDEN CLUB OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS

Special eligibility: Varies; aimed at students interested in the study of landscape architecture, horticulture, medicinal botany, ecological restora-tion, coastal wetlands, garden history and design, tropical botany, endangered bird habitat, field botany, urban forestry, desert studies, environmental science, and more.
Deadlines: Vary up to February 10, 2008

USA FUNDS ACCESS TO EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

Special eligibility: Must be planning to enroll in college beginning the Fall 2008 term through Feb. 1, 2009; financial need; ethnic minorities encouraged to apply.
