Harvest is funded by the LCC Board of Student Publications and produced through an English class titled English 205W: Magazine Editing and Production.

Who are the staff members and what do they do?

Students in the class make up the staff of Harvest. They make announcements and encourage other students to submit their work; they select all the work to print, including the winners of the writing and art contests. They also edit the written entries. The students also do all of the computer work involved in scanning, typing, and designing the final pages of the publication. They use computer programs such as Microsoft Word®, Adobe Photoshop®, InDesign® and GoLive®. Students on the staff may not submit their work for publication during the semester they serve on the staff. However, they may submit their work in future semesters.

Who can have their work published?

All of the student work published in Harvest is done by LCC students who have attended LCC within the past two semesters. If you are a student, we encourage you to submit your written and art work for possible publication. Look for the entry form on this website. Submissions may be made at the Circulation Desk of the Library and to the Harvest adviser in the Language Arts Division.

When can work be submitted?

Entries are accepted year-round. There are specific due dates for each issue. To win the prize of first, second or third place, your entry must be in by the announced due date. The Fall 2006 issue will be published on paper only. The Spring 2007 issue will be published on-line only.
