Communist East Germany built the Berlin Wall in 1961 to stop citizens from fleeing to the West. Hundreds of people died attempting to cross between East and West Germany. When the infamous wall fell on November 9, 1989, Berlin's streets were filled with celebration and souvenir seekers.

Berlin Wall pieces landed in museums and memorials across America. Main Street Station's memorial is the most unique display of this artifact. One side of the men's room adjacent to Garden Court Buffet is faced with a large slab of the Berlin wall. This is no mere art-fart museum display: it is practical decor with a row of functional urinals mounted on it. After hours of gambling and drinking you can piss away your bad luck on the Berlin Wall. An apt political statement, loser mojo remover and kickin' modern art.

Incidentally, the women's room didn't get a Berlin Wall. Not sure why, but perhaps because it's too messy for women to water the wall and, thus, the political satire lost? So ladies this may be your only chance at a peek. Savor it (EOS 40D and EF-s 17-55 2.8 IS USM).

I liked the bright colors so pointed my Canon S90 at this video poker machine. The closest I've gotten to the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. Most Indian casinos are paranoid about photography and will ask you to stop. You can't even take pictures of friends while inside. Most Vegas casinos don't mind as long as you don't bother the table games.

Not an impressive exterior but older Hawaii folk consider it and the Cal the "9th Island." Nevertheless, the beer is so good at Main Street Station's Triple7 microbrewery I always spend at least one day downtown. During summers they brew the most heavenly Hefeweizen, a traditional German unfiltered wheat beer.
