There are many small tributaries that flow down from the mountains and empty into the Sul Ak San River. I hiked several kilometers along this creek and was surprised to find venders at seemingly remote locations. An old woman jumped out of the bushes and sold us some fresh steamed corn!
There was plenty of beautiful scenery. Sadly, many of the best scenics were ruined by the thoughtless placement of ugly signs (do not go here, etc.) and barred wire. I really had to try hard to exclude these elements from my images.
