I focused on infinity, switched off autofocus and set aperture to 30 seconds at F8 in manual exposure mode. I used the RC-1 Remote Release to open the shutter and held a coffee cup over the lens, removing and replacing it as fireworks exploded. It was a real pain avoiding the tops of heads and camera flashes in the frame. After about 30 seconds I used the RC-1 to close the shutter.
