These flowers were growing in open shade and it was an overcast day. The cold, blue light was not very endearing to the flower's bright colors. I mounted my 430EZ Speedlite, dialed in -1 2/3 flash compensation and popped off a couple of shots in aperture priority mode. The flash provided just enough fill to warm up the blue light without spoiling the muted mood of the scene.
