As I tread a dark alley in Amsterdam's Red Light District I grabbed this shot of a young tourist against graffiti. On both sides of this section of wall were dozens of "window girls" showing their wares and shady men trolling for a love fix.
The forward thinking and liberal attitudes of the Netherlands made it fertile ground for all sorts of legal vices including sex trades, gambling and marijuana derivatives, earning it the title of adult playground of Europe. Of course along with vices came free speech and easy immigration policies, resulting in cultural clashes between liberal natives and traditional immigrants and their old country relatives. With all this said, Amsterdam is a surprisingly clean, safe and orderly city, certainly trumping Paris and Rome in such matters.
