One thing I had difficulty getting used to was the European custom of burying the prominent and wealthy inside churches. Dad burn creepy, especially when you're forced to walk across their graves. I got a kick out of informing people they were standing on a grave and then watching the ensuing dance complete with spastic leaps. The wealthy or high born got choice grave sites along the walls complete with a little chapel. The lessor dead were planted in the floor, some under the pews and doorways! Of course, the peons were planted outside. I guess you paid the big bucks if you wanted to be close to God!
