The traditional window with wooden shutters and flowers is a quaint architectural detail that aptly characterizes Venice. Every villa sports some variation on this theme. The most traditional windows lack glass with only wooden shutters between you and mother nature. And, because these structures are hundreds of years old, much of the electrical and pluming lines adorn the outside of the building. Not too pleasing to the eye but makes for easy repairs. Needless to say, I shot a lot of windows. I also developed a thing for door knockers...
