Quilcene is a rural village on the Hood Canal section of US Route 101, about 30 minutes south of Port Townsend. Be forewarned that speeding tickets are among their main sources of revenue and the speed zone creeps up suddenly on 101. I stopped at the village grocery store and noticed everybody was staring at us. No friendly smiles just a creepy vibe... I probably would not have turned my head to glance at this driveway if it had not once belonged to my grandparents. There are a lot of memories here, now frozen as ones and zeros in image code.
