Video Production
Our production team provides the campus with a broad range of media production services to meet instructional, informational, and marketing needs. On land, under water, in class or on location, we can create creative and effective media products to enhance student learning and communicate your message. Our "toolkit" of professional and broadcast quality hardware and software gives us considerable production capability that will be enhanced by our soon to be renovated studio.
Mission
- Provide production quality videos used in campus and program marketing for distribution on television, on DVD, at conferences, or other venues requiring high quality.
- Provide quick-turn-around videos used for instructional purposes for distribution online (YouTube, Laulima).
- Provide training for instructors to shoot their own simple classroom videos and upload to YouTube, Laulima.
Services
We provide services to help faculty interested in incorporating instructional videos into their online, hybrid, or face-to-face course.
Due to staffing considerations, other production requests are reviewed and fulfilled on an “as available” basis. See checklist below.
Video Production Priority Checklist
The Educational Media Center Video Production Unit uses the checklist below to prioritize requests for service. Projects that impact instruction (face-to-face, online, cable) receive first priority and are further prioritized by the level of impact and dissemination. Projects with broad dissemination that support system-wide initiatives or promote Leeward CC come next in the prioritized list. That is followed by special projects that have limited distribution and that affect single courses or programs.
