Notes:

  • Your Google@UH account is separate from a Google or Gmail account
  • Your hawaii.edu email address remains, but has been activated as a Google Apps account
  • To access your Google@UH Gmail account go to:  http://gmail.hawaii.edu.  (You must be migrated first.  Go here to view the migration checklist if you haven't migrated yet.)

Educational Uses

  • Gmail - Organize your @hawaii.edu email in Google's email client. Labels help to organize your email. Built-in chat program allows you to instant message collegues and students instead of emailing.
  • Calendar - Manage your personal events and your courses schedules in separate calendars, but all in one Google Calendar interface. You can easily embed a Google Calendar in a Laulima course site (instead of using the Schedule tool).
  • Docs - Create, share, and collaborate on docs between your collegues and your students too. Docs are saved "in the cloud" (online) so you'll always have access to your docs from any computer with an Internet connection without having to carry a flash drive.
  • Sites - You can use Sites to create a weekly modules site for your course to neatly organize your course's weekly activities. You can insert images, embed YouTube videos, and much more. This is also easily embedable into a Laulima course site.
